WORKSHOP FOR RESTORING TRADITIONAL VESSELS

6 July 2019

L’Escala Museum is organising a workshop for restoring traditional vessels

On 6, 13, 20 and 27 July and 3 August, L’Escala Museum, with the collaboration of the Confraria de Pescadors of L’Escala and Drassanes Sala shipyard is organising the first workshop for restoring traditional vessels, in the Port de la Clota, next to MARAM.

This workshop is aimed at those who are passionate about traditional sailing and the work involved in constructing and, above all, repairing and restoring wooden vessels such as those that have always sailed our seas.

Over the five workshop sessions, participants will work on wooden ships that are part of the maritime heritage of L’Escala and which, once restored, are to become the stars of the future editions of the Salt Festival in L’Escala, an event that is a candidate for becoming UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

All these tasks are supervised by the shipbuilding masters at Drassanes Sala.
